he Folk Song and Dance Group "Legnica" was founded in 1975 in Legnica, at the Regional Cultural Centre. In 1993 local authorities have taken patronage of the group. Nowadays, the group works at Legnica's Cultural Centre.
he Folk Song and Dance Group "Legnica" is divided into 3 smaller groups. Mrs Maria Chrzanowska heads the children and the youth groups and Mr Krzysztof Kobylak heads the adult group consisitnig of students and seniors. Moreover, Mr Aleksander Kozak is a leader of The Folk Band and the choirmaster of the group is Mrs Irena Winnik.
he repertoire of The Folk Song and Dance Group "Legnica" consists of national Polish dances such as "Polonez", "Mazur", "Kujawiak", "Oberek", "Krakowiak" and also different musical compositions and suites. Varied and very dynamic performances of the group cultivate and represent Polish culture, tradition and folklore.
he group has visited many European countries where was warmly welcomed and received many awards.
